Welcome to Glenn Family Dental Clinic

As the official owner of Glenn Family Dental Dr. Garcia is happy. “I am really enjoying every aspect of it,” he said. And he cites the time working at the practice before taking over as something that was beneficial for everyone. “I was able to meet all the patients and familiarize myself with the business angle, while at the same time bringing in some new techniques learned from residency.” Recently engaged, Dr. Garcia has settled into Galveston nicely. He and his fiancée, Ana, volunteer regularly for a variety of local organizations and spend their free time with their puppy, Lola.

After spending the last four decades plus caring for teeth, Dr. Glenn knew it would soon be time to step out of the practice on a full-time basis. A chance conversation with a colleague led him to approach Dr. Garcia. He saw a lot of himself in the younger dentist and thought he would be the perfect fit to leave the legacy he and his family had created. “Dr. Garcia is great. He is knowledgeable, kind, and his level of care is outstanding. I could not have picked a better person to care for my patients.” The transition of ownership was a smooth one, and the clinic has seen some cosmetic improvements in the wake of the change. From Dr. Glenn’s point of view things couldn’t be better as he gets to spend one day still caring for patients while polishing up his golf game the rest of the week.

Brittney is coming up on her three-year anniversary at the clinic- this time around. Now a dental hygienist, Brittney originally worked as a dental assistant before recognizing she wanted a bigger role in patient care. With Dr. Glenn’s encouragement she entered a program for the job, and as soon as she finished, he called with a job offer. “I’m lucky. I never even applied anywhere else, I love Glenn Family Dental that much,” she said. Originally from the Austin area Brittney now lives seven minutes from the office, just enough time to catch a song or two from her favorite singer, Tom Petty.

After nearly 43 years Jody is one of the most recognizable faces on the staff.  “I started with Dr.
Glenn’s daddy,” she stated.  When choosing a career, Jody was inspired by family members
who were part of the dental profession. Striking out on her own, she found that she had chosen  well. She enjoyed helping people keep their teeth healthy and Glenn Family Dental was the
perfect place for her to do it. Four decades later, Jody has come to know whole families
through their dental care, even servicing a few of the first Dr. Glenn’s patients to this day. A
huge mystery fan, she enjoys Nora Roberts and David Baldacci novels in her off time.

A recent UT graduate, Kaly is the newest addition to the staff, but her history with Glenn Family Dental goes back much further. As a child, Kaly saw Dr. Glenn, and his longtime dental assistant, Pam White is her aunt. There was an opening at the practice and Pam seeing the potential in her niece, asked if she would be interested in training to join the staff. She was, and the quick learner has been with the practice for eight months. “I love it here! And they tell me I’m learning fast,” Saffold said. Kaly balances working at the dental office with raising her son and listens to Morgan Wallace in her downtime. 

“They’re like family to me. The doctors are good people and everyone here has good morals. That’s important to me.” That’s what Pam White has to say about the dentists and crew at Glenn Family Dental. After 30 years of service, Pam considers the office her home away from home. Though she left a few times over the years to raise children, these days you can find her at the office daily cleaning Galveston’s teeth and mentoring her niece, Kaly.  Pam spends days off listening to Texas musician, Bob Schneider and playing with her Australian Shepherd, Johnny Cash.

While perusing a dental posting board last year Melody came across an ad for Glenn Family Dental and decided to apply immediately. From the first interview she knew the environment was the right fit for her.  “I adore the atmosphere here. Everyone is so welcomed; you can feel it the minute you walk in the door. Even the day I did my interview I could feel this was the place to be.” Well-versed in everything from patient care to insurance coding, Melody says she has found the “last job of her career” and plans on staying until retirement.  Outside of work Melody raises her four children and the hopeless romantic in her names the movie Titanic as her favorite.
